Biography
Janet Antico earned a Master's degree in Religion at Drew University in order to research and challenge the doctrine that prevents women and girls from being in authority or leadership positions in the Catholic church. She is currently pursuing the Doctor of Ministry degree, Courageous Leadership with a concentration in Women’s Leadership at Drew. She previously taught scripture and social justice at the Academy of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station, NJ and came to Trinity Hall last year.
She is excited to be teaching theology to both freshwomen and seniors again this year. Her curriculum will include and promote the women in the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, highlighting the active involvement of our foremothers in the Catholic faith, focusing on the Divine Feminine, cultural contexts, and lasting impact on religious, social and historical perspectives. With this curriculum, the students can see themselves in their faith with the result being to encourage and empower them as our future leaders in our Church and society at large.
