On Tuesday, May 20, Trinity Hall and the Class of 2026 will welcome documentary director and news/TV producer Rebecca Davis to Eagle Oaks Country Club for the Leading Ladies Luncheon. The annual event is an inspiring day that brings local women together to network with Trinity Hall’s junior class, all while enjoying lunch and listening to the keynote speaker.
Throughout her career, Davis has made significant contributions to the fields of journalism and documentary filmmaking. As a senior producer at NBC News for nearly a decade, she played an instrumental role in launching the network’s first-ever digital video unit. During her time there, she worked on stories focused on social movements, environmental and economic justice, and community innovators.
Davis’ most recent projects include her roles as supervising producer for the second season of "Explained” and director of the feature-length documentary “Join or Die,” both currently streaming on Netflix. The film, which premiered at the 2023 SXSW festival, explores the life and work of renowned civic guru Robert Putnam, known for his groundbreaking research on social capital and community engagement. “Join or Die” examines how social connections shape society, receiving praise for its in-depth analysis and storytelling.
As an advocate for social change and community-driven storytelling, Davis will provide insight from her career to inspire and help students to understand how stories can influence the world. She will also discuss her role on the “Join or Die” project, offering the Trinity Hall community a behind-the-scenes look at the documentary and her work on it. The keynote speech will enhance the afternoon dedicated to empowering and inspiring young women within the Trinity Hall community. Learn more about Rebecca Davis and her work here.
