Trinity Hall Welcomes the Class of 2029 to Accepted Students Day

On March 19, the Trinity Hall community welcomed incoming freshmen and potential future Monarchs to campus. The afternoon was filled with energy and excitement, as eighth grade students were provided the opportunity to meet one another, as well as current students and faculty members, forging connections before the next chapter of their academic journey.

Mrs. Kiernan kicked off the event with a welcome speech to students. The Head of School shared words of encouragement to ease any apprehensions of the Class of 2029, offering a glimpse into the vibrant and supportive atmosphere found in halls and classrooms each day. Mrs. Morreale led participants through the Trinity Hall prayer before Director of Admissions Mrs. Retterer guided students as they took part in the first activity of the day– human bingo!

Current Trinity Hall students led guests through several icebreaker games in classrooms throughout the building, including a connections game, a ball toss activity, and theatre-based exercises, all designed to help the incoming freshmen form bonds. Through these activities, the current Monarchs demonstrated their leadership skills, while embodying the close-knit community that defines Trinity Hall. Kat Yehl ‘27 shared, “Accepted Students Day fostered an opportunity for the Class of 2029 to come together and develop connections before the 2025-2026 school year. My favorite part was having the chance to introduce the incoming freshman to how strong our community is at Trinity Hall and show our support for them as they take the next step into high school.”

After making connections in classroom activities, the community gathered in the Commons for pizza together. During this time, current students shared some insight and answered questions for the future Monarchs. They provided information about their day-to-day lives at school and showed students what they represent as Trinity Hall community members. Current sophomore Emily Dragotti shared, “Being a part of Accepted Students Day, seeing the smiles on the faces of the girls from the incoming Class of 2029, along with the Trinity Hall students who were helping out, is truly what we mean when we say that Trinity Hall is a sisterhood and a community. It is all about the girl!”

Mrs. Havens then took some time to explain the placement testing process to the eighth graders, while Mr. Bagley shared information about athletics and Mrs. Phillips provided insight about opportunities related to the arts. Current student representatives introduced themselves to the incoming class before cake was served and the Commons opened up for activity sign-ups. Before the day concluded, Mrs. Kiernan and Mrs. Retterer provided closing remarks and the future Class of 2029 was gifted with a custom Trinity Hall pencil case with supplies inside.

Incoming freshmen left with smiles on their faces, excited for what will surely be a successful future at Trinity Hall. Class of 2029 student Ava Z. said, “I had a blast at Accepted Students Day! I felt so welcomed, like I was already a part of this community. I met so many new friends today and had a great time!” Likewise, future Monarch Charley P. stated, “Accepted Students Day was so much fun. I was excited to meet my fellow classmates. Trinity Hall makes me feel so welcome and my favorite part was the improv class!”

Franny Bowie Jones ‘27 reflected upon the afternoon as the day came to a close. Jones shared,  “Participating in Accepted Students Day reminds me of when I was in eighth grade and I didn't know anyone coming to Trinity Hall. It is a great way to build connections with people who are going to be in your class up until you graduate. I enjoyed every part of it because it reminded me how grateful I am that I am a student at Trinity Hall and how I am so grateful for the connections that I've made over the years that continue to grow every day. Seeing the Class of 2029 today made me smile because I know that they too will form the same connections here because it really is a place like no other. I know we hear this everyday, but it really is a sisterhood, and it really is all about the girl.”

Accepted Students Day was a successful day for all involved, and the Trinity Hall looks forward to seeing much more of the Class of 2029 soon!
