On January 30, Trinity Hall’s varsity swim team claimed the title of Shore Conference Champions for the third consecutive year. Competing at the Ocean County YMCA in Toms River, the team achieved one of its major season goals with support from swimmers, coaches, and parents, all of whom played a crucial role in the victory. The stands were flooded with supporters, all donning bright orange shirts, which created an electric atmosphere as the meet kicked off.
The competition began with the 200 Medley Relay, where seniors Mia Smith and Maxine Camillone, sophomore Erin Noble, and freshman Reese Biggie competed fiercely for the win. Trinity Hall finished in second place with a time of 1:50.53, setting a positive tone for the meet.
As the races continued, the excitement intensified. The Monarchs continued to take command in the pool as shouts of encouragement from both teammates and supporters boomed. With a roster of talented swimmers, Trinity Hall finished with a score of 282 points, dominating the meet with a 62 point lead over second place, Red Bank Regional.
This year’s meet was especially significant for Trinity Hall, as two swimmers added their name to Trinity Hall’s all-time Top 10 list. Camillone reached a near record-breaking time in the 200 Freestyle, just 0.11 seconds shy of the Trinity Hall record. This is a testament to her speed and dedication. Caitlin Williams ‘25 competed in the 100 Backstroke, which secured her place as the seventh fastest in Trinity Hall history, which also reflects the team’s depth and talent.
Sophomore Lauryn Smith reflected on Trinity Hall’s victory, saying, “Being able to win two Shore Conferences during my time at Trinity Hall has been such an astounding experience. Seeing our team grow so much closer together and everyone swimming their best has made my swim season. Winning the Shore Conference just goes to show how amazing we are as a team, both people and swimming wise.”
Captain of the swim team, Camillone, commented as well, saying, “We’ve worked so hard all season, and it’s such an incredible feeling to see it all come together. This win is a testament to the strength of our team and the support we give each other. We’re excited to win the Shore Conference and fired up to keep the momentum going and take on the state championship. We know we’re ready for the challenge ahead!”
As they head into the NJSIAA Sectional Finals, the Trinity Hall swim team is not only carrying the weight of their past victories but also their aspirations for the future. With the momentum from their third consecutive Shore Conference win, the Monarchs are eager to continue their journey towards state-level glory, confident in the strength and unity that have defined their success. Good luck, and go Monarchs!
