Since the addition of new equipment at the start of the 2024-2025 school year, the Trinity Hall Robotics team, the Monarch Mechanics, has begun to reach new heights in both innovation and performance. Over the past few years, the team has grown into a powerhouse of creativity, teamwork, dedication and determination. What started as a small club has grown into a well-respected team, pushing the boundaries of engineering both inside and outside of the school community.
This year, their hard work has been on full display. The team participated in their second competition of the season at the Vex V5 Robotics Competition, which took place at Colts Neck High School in early February. Competing against teams from across various New Jersey counties, the Monarch Mechanics showcased their skills, even qualifying for the elimination round and being named Alliance Captains.
However, one of the most inspiring aspects of the Monarch Mechanics is that they are an all-female team competing in a field traditionally dominated by males. Despite the gender disparity, the team has shown that skill, innovation and teamwork are not limited to the bounds of gender. Their ability to compete at such high levels serves as an inspiration to all the other young women, encouraging them to explore different opportunities in STEM and to break barriers. Their success is not just about winning matches but also about being role models within the community.
With each competition, the team continues to refine their approach, learning from every match. Their recent successes have motivated them to work even harder as they prepare for the remainder of their season and all the challenges that will come. As Monarch Mechanics continues to push the limits of creativity and teamwork, they are not only building robots– they are building a legacy of perseverance, excellence, and empowerment for future generations of Trinity Hall engineers.
