The Monarchs basketball team has had an amazing 2024-2025 season thus far. With 14 wins on the record, junior Grace Feeney is a key component to the team’s success. Feeney always puts her best foot forward with a positive attitude and a willingness to win. Whether it is driving to the basket, shooting a three pointer, making an incredible pass to one of her teammates, or playing great defense and getting both steals and rebounds, Feeney finds the basket from any spot on the court.
Feeney is a season stat leader in the Shore Conference this season, with an average of 15.9 points per game. She has played 19 games, scoring 303 points total. In a competitive conference where she constantly goes up against skilled opponents, Feeney shows off her talents. Her season high is 27 points against Holmdel. Some other incredible performances were against Shore Regional with a game high of 25 points, as well as against Colts Neck with another game high of 22.
In Feeney’s season high against Holmdel, she was awarded MVP. The game took place at the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament hosted by Donovan Catholic. Along with 27 points, Feeney had seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.
Grace Feeney has become an undeniable force to opposing teams due to her frequent ability to score, but the most important part of her demeanor is her sense of teamwork and sportsmanship. Her selflessness on the court is a huge part of the team’s dynamic, resulting in positive outcomes. She shares, “I feel really lucky to be a part of such a talented and supportive group and I am extremely proud of the way that the hard work that I have put in and that we have all put in has paid off this season.” Feeney is a leader to the underclasswomen on the team, showing what it takes to be one of the top players in the Shore Conference.
