Trinity Hall Varsity Swimming Crowned Monmouth County Champions | Monarch Media

On January 11, the Trinity Hall varsity swim team competed in the Monmouth Counties swim meet–a county-wide swim meet consisting of the top, most competitive swimmers from both public and private schools. After countless hours of preparation in the pool, the Monarchs suited up for this important race. As expected, they humbly stepped up to the plate and brought home a victory for Trinity Hall!

Though the win is impressive in itself, both the individual performances from each of the 18 selected swimmers, as well as the group as a whole, were undoubtedly exceptional. Bringing in a total of 354 points as a team is not only the most points scored at Monmouth Counties in Trinity Hall history, but also the most points scored in meet history. Additionally, it is the largest margin of victory with second place finishing with a substantial 137.5 points behind the Monarchs. This is the first time in Trinity Hall history that the Monarchs have won at Monmouth Counties for two consecutive years.

These historical results were a product of the outstanding efforts of both individual swims and relays. Reese Biggie ‘28, Erin Noble ‘27, Maxine Camillone ‘25, Lauren Hanus ‘26, Caitlin Williams ‘25, and Mia Smith ’25 all earned a spot on the Trinity Hall top 10 list in their respective events and relays. Along with that, there were four individual champions and three consecutive titles held. Another notable achievement was the 37 personal best times met in individual events.

Recapping the extraordinary meet just hours after coaching the Monarchs to victory (and even running the Walt Disney World Marathon!) Coach Brian Retterer said,  “In talking with you, this team, we told you all we just had to be ourselves, nothing unique. This is just the start of the season, a lot still to go, but what a great place to start.” Following this meet, Trinity Hall varsity swimming went on to take victory against Westfield, a long-standing strong competitor for the Monarch, Marlboro and St. Rose. The year is looking very promising for the Monarchs as they head into the second half of the season.
