On December 13, the Trinity Hall community came together to cheer on the varsity ice hockey team as they faced Westfield. The support from the crowd combined with the undeniable teamwork shown on the ice pushed the Monarchs to victory.
Sophomore Sienna DeAngelis, stated, “What makes us so successful is our team chemistry and the confidence and trust we put into each other. Our team is like a sisterhood and I know that they all have my back no matter what challenges our team faces. Because of this bond we can all play with the utmost confidence in each other which is a key factor in our success on the ice.”
“Our dedication and work ethic in practice is what makes us thrive during games. Coming to practice every morning with a positive attitude allows us to grow as a team and we rely on each other to get through tough practices and games,” DeAngelis also commented. The tight knit bond between the players on the team provides a support system that benefits them both on and off the ice. Having this type of team chemistry is necessary for athletic success.
Additionally, the student section at the game showed their utmost support for their fellow peers playing on the team. Maeve Bradley ‘27, one of the spectators in the crowd, shared her experience from the exciting game: “Being in the stands with my fellow classmates and friends as we supported our school’s ice hockey team was such a fun bonding experience. I loved how our community was uplifting the team and the positive attitudes definitely made for a positive atmosphere.”
The energy from the crowd throughout the game was electric and any time a player scored a goal, the stands erupted into cheer. The ice hockey team could hear the cheers from the ice, knowing their peers were there to support them and help them achieve their well-deserved victory. Attending “fan day” events like this is crucial in our community, as it brings us together to show up for each other and cheer one another on. The community is looking forward to continuing this support for all the other winter sports teams and their fan days.
