Trinity Hall Community Leaves Permanent Mark on New Academic Wing on Beam Signing Day

On October 15, Head of School Theresa Kiernan surprised the community with an exciting announcement and an opportunity to make history at Trinity Hall. To commemorate the current construction project and remember the students, faculty, staff, board members and project partners who bore witness to the construction of our new academic wing and Commons expansion, Mrs. Kiernan announced that everyone would be signing a steel beam that would be placed in the vestibule of the new academic wing.

Before the community began to sign, Mrs. Kiernan invited members of our board of trustees and representatives from the teams behind the project to speak in front of the Community Meeting. Each team member introduced themselves and their role in the project. The students heard from professionals with a variety of backgrounds who work in many different positions. Members from the general contractor Highview Commercial, the construction firm E.P. Guidi, Inc., the architecture firm SLAM Collaborative, the lawyers Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla, P.C., our board development chair Victoria Gmelich, and our board construction co-chairs Mairead Clifford and Torrey Plank spoke about their work on the campus construction project.

With orange hard hats on and markers in hand, everyone present on Beam Signing Day signed their names on the steel beam, our project partners included. It was an exciting day for the Trinity Hall community, as everyone was able to leave their mark on this piece of campus history. The next morning, the beam was installed in its permanent spot in the new academic wing. Though it will be hidden from view, it will forever carry the names of our current students, faculty, board members and project partners, serving as a lasting tribute to this monumental moment in Trinity Hall’s history.

As a special surprise, E.P. Guidi, Inc. generously gifted every member of the Trinity Hall community custom-designed t-shirts to commemorate the day. The whole community wore them on Friday to celebrate what will go down in Trinity Hall history as Beam Signing Day!
