Advice for Incoming Freshmen: How to Get Involved as Freshmen at Trinity Hall | Monarch Media

Welcome to Trinity Hall, incoming freshmen! We hope you are getting excited for your first year of high school. There are countless ways to have fun and get involved in the community, especially as a freshman!
One of the best things about Trinity Hall is the community that comes with athletics. As a junior at Trinity Hall, I play two sports and have had the best experience possible. Freshman year especially is when you can make a bunch of friends before school through a fall sport. If you are worried about trying a new sport or maybe one that you are not the best at, there is no reason to be worried because there are always options where everyone can learn to play, while still having fun.

If you are not interested in playing sports, Trinity Hall’s performing arts program is another great option. The Queen’s Court Company (QCC) here at Trinity Hall puts on two productions a year: a play in the fall and a musical in the early spring. There are many ways to get creative and show your love for the arts in the QCC. Members can audition for singing, acting and dancing roles. There are also opportunities for students to run the backstage production, or make costumes and sets for the play. The QCC is a welcoming community, and it is truly an amazing group of girls!

Another great opportunity for freshmen is joining clubs. At the annual Club Fair, hosted by student leaders at the beginning of the school year, freshmen will be able to see the wide range of clubs that Trinity has to offer. There is a fit for everyone in our clubs and student activities. Students are allowed to try as many clubs as they want at the beginning of the year, and then narrow down their favorites. Personally, I joined five clubs in my freshman year.

Additionally, a great way to get involved as a freshman is to join the student council! At Trinity Hall, there are five student council groups to join: Academics, Athletics, Arts, Community Life and SCOPE (Service, Community Outreach, and Prayer are Essential). Freshmen are allowed to run for a representative position on one of the councils, and there are 3 representatives elected per grade for each council. In order to run, you have to write and deliver your speech to the freshmen class. This is a great way to get involved because it allows freshmen to gain a voice in the student council decisions.

Lastly, the best way for any freshman to get involved is by supporting Trinity Hall. Going to Trinity Hall events, other students’ sports games and art shows, and the QCC productions are such a great way to immerse yourself in the strong community at Trinity Hall!
