Trinity Hall’s Queen’s Court Company and Pit Orchestra Win Three Basie Awards

Trinity Hall congratulates the members of the Queen’s Court Company and Crowning Crew who won Basie Awards at the 2024 Basie Awards ceremony: 
 
Joy Ogunsakin ‘26: Outstanding Lead Performance in a Female Identified Role – Comedy - “The Learned Ladies”
 
Lucas Wilson: Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Male Identified Role – Comedy - “The Learned Ladies”
 
Pit Orchestra, “Fire Pit”: Outstanding Small Music Ensemble - “Firebringer”
 
The Basie Award for Outstanding Small Music Ensemble is the first award for the Pit Orchestra in the school's history. 
 
The posters for the fall and spring productions also brought home Basie Awards. For each production, the posters are made by sophomores in Mrs. Straine’s graphic design classes in collaboration with Mrs. Phillips.

Emily Rae Johns ‘25, Maebh McCarthy ‘24 and Lucas Wilson also had the opportunity to perform a scene from “The Learned Ladies” during the awards ceremony at the Count Basie Center for the Arts.
