Trinity Hall Welcomes Mary Kate Blaine as Head of School

Mary Kate Blaine began her tenure on July 1, 2021 as the second head of school for Trinity Hall. Ms. Blaine was appointed by the Trinity Hall Board of Trustees in December 2020 after a comprehensive national search conducted over the course of sixteen months with the support of Wickenden Associates, a leading national education-focused executive search firm. The search effort was led by Miriam Tort, board of trustees vice chair, and involved the entire school community. Ms. Blaine succeeds Mary R. Mahon Sciarrillo, founding head of school, who retired in June 2021.

"I am so grateful for the opportunity to join this remarkable community at this exciting time," said Ms. Blaine. "I especially look forward to meeting our students, hearing what they love most about Trinity Hall, and helping them grow as young women rooted in faith who are unafraid to question and learn, collaborate and lead."

Ms. Blaine served as the principal at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School, an all-girls Catholic high school in Washington, D.C., from 2013 until taking office at Trinity Hall. She previously held the role of chief of staff to the superintendent of Catholic schools for the Archdiocese of New York. Ms. Blaine began her career in education as a social studies teacher at the Notre Dame School of Manhattan, an all-girls Catholic high school in New York City, where she later served as social studies department chair and director of curriculum development. She earned her B.A. in American studies from Fordham University and holds two graduate degrees from Columbia University, an Ed.M. in private school leadership and an M.A. in history and education.

In her first two weeks, Ms. Blaine has met students and their grandparents during Grandparent Tour days, has had meetings with faculty and staff, and has several more meetings scheduled in the weeks to come as she settles into her new school community. Ms. Blaine relocated to the area a few months back and is enjoying her first summer at the Jersey Shore.

We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Blaine to Trinity Hall!
